Gotland and Visby can be reached by both air and boat. Three fast ferries operate services on Nynäshamn-Visby and Oskarshamn-Visby, which takes about three hours. Visby Airport is just on the outskirts of town. Gotland Air and Skyways are two airlines serving the airport.Visby is an urban area (a former city) and the main town in Gotland Municipality, the residence city of Gotland County and diocese city in the Visby Diocese. Many monuments from Visby’s great past are city attractions today:The Ring Wall from the 1200's, is a 3.5 kilometer long wall with a total of 44 towers, including the Powder Tower Cathedral, and the S: ta Maria Church. Church Ruins; about 150 middle age ruins, more or less in well preserved condition in Gotlands “fornsal,” which is now a museum. The Botanical Garden is owned by the society DBW (The Bathing Friends). Galgberget, North of Norderport, has the conserved medieval gallows - three stone pillars with 17 stones each.
