Swimming

Bathing Places

Take a refreshing dip at one of our beaches or visit one of our swimming facilities. Outside swimming pools are in Öresjö, Sjölander and Gravlången.

Öresjö
Bathing and fishing is something that exists in abundance in Öresjö. This is primarily thanks to all the bays, capes and islands that exist in the lake. Munkebo has a fine beach, and you will also find grass and sand beaches, playground and kiosk.

Gravlången
Here you'll find a small bathing area near the recreation buildings at Ålstadsnäset.

Sjölander
On the northern side of Lake Trehörningen, you'll find a nice beach that has been fixed up in recent years. There is a bridge and restrooms.

Sjuntorps Swimming and Sport Facility

The water is 34 degrees and the facility is very family-friendly. The Swimming Center is also designed for the handicapped and rehabilitation. There is even a sports hall, training and solarium.

Älvhögsborg (Bathing)

In our fine premises, you can enjoy the Jacuzzi, go down the slide, climb on the climbing wall or jump from diving boards and towers. For those who are not as playful, here is an opportunity to swim or be on our wonderful water gymnastics. Would you like to improve your tan, you can bask in our fresh solarium.

Our Roman bath offers relaxation for those who take the time to enjoy. Here you can also get massages and try floating.

In the summer the outside pool is open. There is a 50 meter pool, a pool with diving tower and trampoline from 1 - to 10 meters, exercise pool and a small splash pool. There is also a volleyball court.

Family Activities

Göta River Boat Tours

Take a boat tour on the M / S Strömkarlen and M / S Elfkungen for an unforgettable tour along the Göta river or Trollhätte channel. The trip takes about 3 hours, and you may even go through at least one lock to see how it works.

Museum

Forngården (Open Air Museum)

The Forngården Open Air Museum along on the cliffs in Strömslund. Here you can see the tools and buildings from the old Trollhättan. Enjoy the rich history and the beautiful nature with a view of Tollhätte channel.

Kanalmuseet (Museum)

Visit Kanalmuseet (The Channel Museum) and see over 50 boat models, including an old dinghy and a diving suit complete with underwater tools from the 1800's.

Innovatum (Technical Park)

Add a visit to the Innovatum Technical Park of Knowledge, which focuses on technology, creativity, media and design. Here you'll find Sweden's southernmost aerial cableway with a breathtaking view across the Trollhätte channel.

Jättegryta (Giants Cauldrons)

Visit the giants cauldrons which was made during the Ice Age. Many visiting monarchs have left their signatures here, from Adolf Fredrik in1754 to Carl XVI Gustaf.
